Recently, Delegation No. 13, organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee, the Viet Nam Youth Union Central Committee, in collaboration with the Navy, conducted the “Youth for the Homeland’s Sea and Islands” journey with the theme “I Love My Country”. The journey aimed to visit and encourage officials, soldiers, and people in Truong Sa island district. The Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA) actively participated in the activities within the framework of the journey.

The delegation was led by Rear Admiral Pham Van Quang, Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy. The deputy heads of the delegation included Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee, and Head of the “Youth for the Homeland’s Sea and Islands” journey; Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province; and Mr. Hoang Van Tao, Deputy Head of the Standing Board of the Publicity and Education Commission of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee.

Also participating were representatives from the HCYU Central Committee, the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Youth Union, Quang Tri province, Lang Son province, several businesses, artists, and reporters from central and local press agencies.

The VYEA was honored to have 3 delegates participate in the delegation, including Mr. Trinh Xuan Duong, Member of the VYEA Executive Committee and Vice President of the Bac Kan Young Entrepreneurs Association; Mr. Pham Duy Quang Huy, Officer of the VYEA Central Office; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy An, Chief of Office of the Binh Duong Young Entrepreneurs Association.

Also joining the delegation were Mr. Tu Tuan Phuong, Head of the Movement Board of Ha Tinh Provincial HCYU and Vice President of the Ha Tinh Young Entrepreneurs Association; and Mr. Truong Dang Khoa, Chairman of the Trade Union of Phuc Khang Corporation.

The “Youth for the Homeland’s Sea and Islands” journey 2024 was organized on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of South Viet Nam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2024) and the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of Truong Sa (April 29, 1975 – April 29, 2024). It was also part of a series of outstanding and typical activities of youth union members nationwide to celebrate the Viet Nam Youth Union Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 9th National Congress of the Viet Nam Youth Union for the 2024-2029 term.

With destinations including Song Tu Tay, Da Thi, Sinh Ton Dong, An Bang, Da Dong B, Da Tay A islands, Truong Sa island, and DKI/8 – Que Duong oil rig, the delegation visited, encouraged, and gave gifts to the military and people on the islands. They also learned about the ideological situation, living conditions, and the results of the task of protecting the country’s sea and island sovereignty.

Representatives of the delegation and various units presented the military and people of Truong Sa island district with many practical, meaningful, and familiar gifts for their daily lives.

Within the framework of the journey, the VYEA Central Committee, in collaboration with Phuc Khang Corporation, supported the “Green Truong Sa” project with the item “Green Vegetable Garden on the Island” worth 300 million VND. The VYEA Central Committee also contributed many gifts to the journey worth 120 million VND. Ke Go Company, owned by Mr. Trinh Xuan Duong, contributed 100 million VND, and the Binh Duong Young Entrepreneurs Association contributed 20 million VND.

At the meetings, leaders and commanders of the islands and oil rigs reported on their task performance and expressed their gratitude for the profound care of the Party, State, central and local agencies, socio-political organizations, and businesses towards the military and people on Truong Sa island district and DKI/8 oil rig.

With the spirit of “Bringing affection – bringing back trust”, the members of the “Youth for the Homeland’s Sea and Islands” journey 2024 deeply felt and witnessed the living, learning, and working conditions of the officers, soldiers, and people on the islands and oil rigs.

The visit helped the delegates and members of the delegation gain a deeper understanding of the country’s sea and islands. It was a valuable practical lesson and a vivid demonstration of the hardships, great responsibilities, and sacrifices of the Navy officers and soldiers in protecting the country’s sea and island sovereignty.

Through this, each member had their own reflections and thoughts, realizing the responsibility of young people nationwide to further spread the historical values of Viet Nam’s sea and islands and to join hands in contributing to the cause of protecting the integrity of the beloved country’s sea and island sovereignty.
