On the morning of May 4, within the framework of the Program to support people and young children in the drought-saline areas of the Mekong Delta provinces, the Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association (VYEA) organized the presentation of 1,000 freshwater bottles (19 liters capacity) along with gifts and scholarships to support people and young children in An Hiep commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province, worth over 200 million dong.
Attending the program were Mr. Ngo Van Cuong, Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee, Chairman of the HCYU Central Committee Inspection Commission; Mr. Dang Hong Anh, Vice President of the Viet Nam Youth Union, President of the VYEA. Also attending were leaders of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ben Tre; and the Ben Tre Provincial HCYU and the Viet Nam Youth Union of the Ben Tre province.
In the face of complex weather developments, prolonged drought, and localized shortages of domestic water in many localities, seriously affecting the production and living of people, the VYEA has organized a call to young entrepreneurs’ associations and clubs in provinces and cities, member enterprises to promote the tradition of solidarity, mutual love and the pioneering spirit for the community of young entrepreneurs, to join in supporting people in the drought-saline areas to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Mr. Dang Hong Anh, Vice President of the Viet Nam Youth Union, President of the VYEA, said: With an initial amount of over 600 million dong mobilized, in the immediate future, we will urgently survey the actual situation and build a plan to transport drinking water and domestic water to the first 4 provinces: Ben Tre, Long An, Tien Giang, Ca Mau to support people who are lacking drinking water and domestic water.
“In the coming time, the VYEA will continue to mobilize organizations, individuals and member enterprises to support more resources to contribute to working with local authorities to implement more long-term plans in supporting and providing clean water to people in the drought-saline areas of the Mekong Delta provinces” – Mr. Dang Hong Anh further informed.
It is hoped that the contributions of the VYEA will contribute to helping people in the Mekong Delta provinces to quickly overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. These meaningful activities also increasingly affirm the spirit of solidarity, sharing and responsibility of the VYEA towards the community.
