From October 2nd to 4th, in Vientiane Capital (Lao PDR), the Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA) participated in the 9th ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Carnival 2024, hosted by the Laos Young Entrepreneurs Association – the 2024 ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Chairman.
This is an annual major event for young entrepreneurs in the region to connect with their peers from ASEAN and international countries. The event attracted nearly 1,000 delegates, including young entrepreneurs from ASEAN countries and two partners, Japan and Korea Republic.
The delegation of VYEA will attend AYEC 2024 with 19 members, led by Ms. Pham Thi Bich Hue, VYEA’s Vice President, actively participated and contributed to the program’s content.
Within the framework of the Carnival, the VYEA delegation actively participated in important joint activities such as: the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Leaders Council Meeting; the ASEAN Young Women Entrepreneurs Club Meeting. At these meetings, representatives of the VYEA and other countries in the region discussed issues related to the development and connection between young entrepreneurs in the region, as well as strategies for developing leadership skills for young women entrepreneurs.
On this occasion, two new members of the VYEA, including Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao, Member of the VYEA’s Central Committee, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association, Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company, and Ms. La Hieu Hue, Member of the VYEA’s Central Committee, General Director of Van Dat Trading Production Company Limited, were selected to join the Executive Board of the ASEAN Young Women Entrepreneurs Club for the 2024-2025 term, continuing to affirm the pioneering role of young Vietnamese women entrepreneurs in the region.
In particular, at the first joint discussion session on October 3rd with the theme “Connecting to Strengthen Recovery through Co-creation and Co-investment”, Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao, Member of the VYEA’s Central Committee, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association (one of the five keynote speakers) emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships between young entrepreneurs in the ASEAN region, focusing on sustainable development solutions; flexibility, adaptability to change; and building a strategy in parallel with corporate culture clearly.
Ms. Tran Phuong Ngoc Thao also proposed a number of solutions towards sustainable development; flexible, adaptive young entrepreneurs in the face of the constant fluctuations of the world economy; in which, building a professional corporate culture is one of the important factors that bring success to businesses.
Within the framework of the Carnival, a representative of VYEA, Mr. Dang Huynh Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TTC Energy, was awarded the “Carnival Award 2024”, honoring the efforts and achievements of Mr. Tuan as well as TTC Energy in pioneering the rooftop solar power sector in Viet Nam, helping to reduce CO2 emissions significantly and save millions of kWh of electricity annually, as well as the sustainable economic development of the region.
With the theme “Promoting Connectivity among ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs for a Sustainable Future”, the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Carnival 2024 once again demonstrated the spirit of connection and cooperation for sustainable development in the young entrepreneurs’ ecosystem in the region.
The participation of the VYEA in this Carnival continues to affirm the spirit of integration of Vietnamese young entrepreneurs, thereby demonstrating to international friends the position and role of the VYEA in the ASEAN young entrepreneurs community, towards building a sustainable and prosperous ASEAN region.
